If you’ve been struggling to find a Nintendo Switch 2, the holidays might finally be your chance. Reports suggest Nintendo is ramping up production ahead of the 2025 shopping season — and that could mean more stock for eager gamers.
Demand for Switch 2 Parts Surges
According to manufacturing forecasts spotted by GoNintendo, Nintendo’s hardware partners PixArt and Hosiden have both increased their sales projections for the third quarter of 2025.
- Hosiden — which assembles Switch components — boosted its sales forecast by 10.3% after receiving additional orders from Nintendo.
- PixArt — the maker of mouse sensors for the new Joy-Con 2 controllers — expects sales to jump 11% to 19% through September.
These jumps strongly suggest Nintendo is stockpiling consoles ahead of the holiday rush.
A Record-Breaking Launch — With Shortages
Launched on June 5, the Switch 2 became Nintendo’s fastest-selling console ever, moving over 6 million units by July 24. But demand far outpaced supply, with retailers like Amazon using invite-only sales to keep scalpers at bay.
The shortages even prompted an apology from Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, who promised increased production.
Pricing Questions Still Loom
While the production boost is welcome news, there’s uncertainty around pricing. Thanks to ongoing tariffs, Nintendo has already raised US prices on older Switch models — the Switch Lite now starts at $229 instead of $199.
It’s unclear if the Switch 2 will see similar price hikes before the holidays.
What This Means for You
If you’ve been holding out for a Switch 2, holiday 2025 might be your best shot yet. With manufacturing running at full speed, we could finally see stable stock — but whether the price will hold is anyone’s guess.
